- Date : Friday January 18, 2019
- Venue : Bangkok
35 staff and leaders of credit unions from Indonesia, Nepal and the Philippines completed the trainers training on January 13 to 18, 2019 at Pantip Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand organized by ACCU.
The program aimed to focus on the key leadership attributes required by leaders to drive the achievement of the shared vision – Integrated and Sustainable Credit Union Networks in Asia.
The program is designed for volunteers (Board and Committee members) as well as employees of credit unions owing to the fact that leadership can be manifested in every individual. “
The credit unions can only provide exceptional leadership if it is led and staffed by people with exceptional ideologies, beliefs and understanding of themselves and others,” said ACCU CEO Elenita San Roque.
Skills and competence are important, but it is very critical that people leading the credit unions have their purpose and values in life aligned to that of the credit unions.
At the graduation ceremony, all participants expressed their feelings and commitment:
“I would like to thank ACCU and my organization for allowing me to be here. I became motivated and excited to go back to propose and prepare the module of building transformative leaders.” Mary Rose L. Gob of NATCCO
“I thank the Board of Directors of CUCO for allowing me to join this training. This training helped me refresh my ideas, skills and opinions.” – Stephanus Toga Siagian, CUCO
“I am very happy to be the part of this training. When I go back to my country, I will bring the concept of integration of the Asian Credit Union Network with me.” - Muna K.C., NCBL
