Congratulations to the Ms. Monique F. Leroux!

On November 13, 2015, Ms. Monique F. Leroux, the Chair of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Desjardins Group from Canada was elected as the new President of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and will serve in the office for a two-year term from 2015 to 2017.
Ms. Leroux mentioned during her inauguration, “I am profoundly honoured and moved to have been elected President of the International Cooperative Alliance. My thanks go out to our members across the world. I thank them for their support and trust they invest in me.”
As a true influential woman who encompasses numerous leadership qualities, Ms. Leroux received copious honours, including the Order of Cananda, the Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur (France), the Woodrow Wilson Award (United States), personality of Francophonie économique, and held honorary doctorates from eight Canadian universities. She was recently inducted as a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors for her outstanding leadership in business and governance. Also, committed to public policy, Ms. Leroux is a member of the Canadian Prime Minister’s Advisory Committee and participates in the B20 and B7/G7.
In addition, Ms. Leroux upholds her commitment to support youth education and not-for-profit organizations that oblige to work for the good of others.
